DZIDZOLIE offers mix of West African music styles, based on traditional
percussion from Ghana, Benin, Nigeria and Burkina Faso, combined with guitars,
balofon, flute, sax and trumpet).
This style is being called “highlife”, “abadja” and
“adua”.
Highlife (hot rhythm, cool dancing) is based on the basic elements of life,
especially love and female charms. Abadja find its roots in spirituality and
voodoo.
Exchanging the common drum set by traditional African drums gives DZIZOLIE
a different and special sound.
Pure percussion combined with dance, African bleus, hot soukous, some voodoo,
it is all part of the concept.
DZIDOLIE CAN OFFER BOTH, PURE TRADITIONAL PERCUSSION OR MODERN AFRICAN MUSIC;
In the past, DZIDZOLIE performed at Mano Mundo, Polé Polé, at
St Jacobs on the Ghent festival, Africandelftfestival and several summer festivals
in Belgium and The Netherlands.
